Service Description

Overview If you only have a few hours to spare and want an exhilarating ride with fantastic scenery, this mini adventure is perfect for you. Starting in Braemar, our mountain bike route climbs and descends one of the lesser-known trails in the North East, Morrone, offering some of the best views of the Cairngorm Plateau and a genuine sense of wilderness. Route Description Setting off from Braemar, the route follows the historic Old Military Road, running parallel to the A93, offering an atmospheric start from the village set in the heart of Cairngorms. We will then ascend Morrone and depending on the cloud cover, you may be rewarded with some of the finest panoramic views of the Cairngorm Plateau. The adventure culminates with an exhilarating descent along the walkers' path, winding back into Braemar and if we have time to spare, there's the option to extend the ride into the heather-clad moorland that surrounds the village, adding an extra dose of wild Scottish beauty to the day’s outing.
