Broaddykes Place

Service Description

The Coyles of Muick Trail Adventure Overview One of my favourite trails in Aberdeenshire. Starting from Ballater this mini adventure will take you to the heart of Royal Deeside where you will get an opportunity to ride on the edges of the Balmoral Estate and the Cairngorms. Route Description Heading up into the hills the climb will require a level of fitness, although stopping for breathers and walking is also fine. As we come out of the Tree's you will get your first view of Lochnagar and the Coyles of Muick which provides a great 360 view of the area. After a short push up to the Top of the Coyles, we'll take time out for the customary Instagram selfie and recharge of our batteries before descending back down a well-known single track trail locally called "The Greenmile". The final part of your adventure will be a stop off at a little known loch, before heading back into Ballater via. one of Queen Victoria's famous white bridges. Trail Details • Ability Level: Intermediate • Distance: 20 - 25 km • Elevation Gain: 500 m • Duration: 2 - 3 hours • Terrain: Road, forest trail, single track, heather (may be boggy if wet) • Grade: Blue (most features are rollable; walking sections are optional depending on confidence) Pacing and Group Considerations The ride is paced to suit the abilities of the group, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all participants. Climbs can be either biked or walked as preferred, with flexibility for riders to take breaks and choose their preferred method of ascent.
